Hi hi friend (or foe?)! Welcome to Celestial, my bookish community.

I host Celestial through a platform called Bindery (that’s where you’re reading this note). 

What is Bindery?

Bindery is sort of a blend of a bookish Patreon and a disrupter to the publishing industry. It’s a membership platform specifically for book influencers, and collects content in one place while also offering a searchable bookshelf, a weekly digest, a spot for exclusive content, and beyond.

What do I get as a Celestial community member?

There are currently two membership options. You can join the free tier (“Astronomers” 🔭 ) or the  $5/month tier (“Moonwalkers” 🧑‍🚀). 

Astronomer benefits:

Both free and paid members mean the world to me, and every one who joins helps get us closer to a publishing imprint. So if you like my book taste and want to help more inclusive & original otherworldly stories make their way into the world, you should definitely join (and tell all of your friends 😉). 

What’s the deal with publishing imprints?

If a content creator has a larger & active community, they have the option to establish a publishing imprint and fund the publication of new books by authors their communities will love. Bindery then partners with the creator to design their imprint, attract submissions for potential titles, and manage editorial, design, printing, traditional marketing, and distribution to everywhere books are sold.

Content creators who have publishing imprints will invite their community’s participation in key publishing decisions, create opportunities to meet authors, and offer the ability to receive ebooks, early physical copies of new books, and special perks like getting your name in the acknowledgments page of books you participated in.
